Greek Adaption of Rhinoceros
Tomorrow is the last performance! The School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Calgary presents the play Rhinoceros, by Eugène Ionesco, directed by MFA student Constantine X Anastasakis, at the Reeve Theatre.
Written in 1959, Rhinoceros is a classic example of Absurdist Theatre. In the original play, the citizens of a small French town transform one by one into rhinoceroses. This is an allegory for the rise of Nazism in Europe. In this production however, the director re-imagines the story and its protagonists. Now set in Greece, the rhinoceroses no longer symbolize a menacing, corrupt, and irrational power – but instead they represent the upcoming revolt and a social movements toward progressive change.                 Click here for more information.

Philoptochos
Thank you to everyone that purchased Tsourekia from Philoptochos.  We sold out after church on Sunday, thank you for supporting us.  A reminder to our community members that Philoptochos continues to make over 1200 sandwiches for the drop-in centre each month.  The donations that are placed in the Agia Philothei collection box, located near the candles on the left side of the church entrance,  fund those sandwiches.  We have been able to do provide sandwiches each month because of your love and generosity.  Thank you to the group of volunteers that come to help us make the sandwiches!  When we work together with love, we accomplish great things!  We wish you all a Blessed and beautiful Pascha!

Holy Week is a beautiful time to come to church.  It is helpful for children to have the liturgical book that accompanies Holy Week so that they can follow along during the church services.  On Easter Sunday, it is a very special service.  Among other things, you hear the Gospel in different languages and Father Peter makes it fun for the children with an Easter egg cracking challenge after church.  It is a wonderful time to come together in prayer and thanksgiving.   Kalo Pascha to all!
